In 1987 Shape and Color met a kid and they where friends. Pulled in and out of school Alex played alone with Color and Shape. Growing up and being a knucklehead he played big willie with the graffiti scene. Over the next few years Alex studied plein air painting with Bob Gross, studio painting with Laura Tan, was challenged with 3d design by Jim Hunter and instructed in figure drawing by Thomas Wyroba. His paintings reflect his childhood nightmares and triumphs. His imagery is of lonely monsters and untethered family life that is always moving and vibrant. As an adult Alex continues to move about. In 2000, Feliciano moved to Atlanta then in 2004 he moved to Los Angeles and in 2009 he moved back to Atlanta. Now settling down with a family Alex continues to participate in group exhibitions and solo shows on each coast. A firm believer in continuing education, Alex can be found working with watercolors in the park or collaborating with fellow artists on large studio canvases. This fervor for creating lends a deeply psychological undercurrent to much of his work. |
